Cruelty,
Why do you claim yet another victim?
She once had innocent eyes
Alive with hope and curiosity.
Yet you felt the need,
To steal those eyes away.
Subjecting her to hate,
And the darkest evils of man.
You filled her heart with fear,
Instead of the tender love she deserved
And you watched with glee
As your twisted love
Took it's toll.
Cruelty,
You have such a calloused heart
Why must you relish
In the tears of a child.
What is it about those
Raindrops from heaven
That nourishes you so well.
Are you so far from God,
That you have to steal Heaven
From this child?
Cruelty
You've claimed another victim,
But I swear this will be your last
For I vow
To make your acts known
Once
And For all.

cruelty to children is the worst form...
I was hoping that Adsense had some sort of advertising for child abuse programs, and a topic like this could draw attention to them, but sadly I had to post this as a non commercial blog, so I felt it was important to at least put the hot line number.
Yes it is. I hope a lot of people participate in this challenge so we can help the cause.

I commend you for your heart for children. I have been brought to tears recently concerning the two little boys of Josh Powell whom he brutely murdered before burning them all up. We hear about crimes done to helpless children everyday, but this one truly upset me. They all upset me but I am having a hard time forgetting this one. I would like to write a hub about it, but I am still sorting through my feelings on it. I am not a poetry writer though.
We all need to be more aware of child abuse in any form and work hard with local, state and federal government agencies to better protect children. Most importantly we need to pray about it. Prayer is powerful. Thanks for sharing.

What must go wrong in the mind of a man to enable him to hurt and kill children, or any other human being? (Not to talk about cruelty to animals.) Whatever went wrong, he ought to be permanently eliminated; he does not deserve the oxygen he breathes.
Your poem is a cry, and so sad!
I don't understand how someone like that can exist, but they do and when we see them commit these crimes we need to take action.
